SOS Radio Week - 2010
Raising money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution
(RNLI) - through Amateur Radio.
Between 23rd & 31st January I took part in the SOS Radio Week 2010, organised by Derek & David Hughes, G7LFC & M3LFC.
Full details of this are on the SOS Radio Week website, details / link below, with various fundraising events being held by amateur radio enthusiasts before & after the RNLI SOS fundraising day on 29th January.
In total I made over 120 contacts working locally on 2 metres & worldwide on echolink & CQ100. Most of my activity was over the weekend of 30th / 31st January.
Sponsorship & donations pledged amounts to £70, & on 6th February I forwarded a cheque for this amount, payable to 'RNLI', to the SOS Radio Week organisation. Hopefully this will help them reach their target figure of £2,000.
At the bottom of this page are some photos of the weekend in the 2E0RMI shack...
Thank you to all who sponsored me & to all who made contact during this enjoyable special event. Here's to next year...

SOS Radio 'Weekend' - 30 / 31 Jan 2010...
The 2E0RMI shack ! Sunday 31st January 2010, showing operation on 2m & CQ100, & also monitoring transmissions on 80m from friends at 'MARS' - Meirion Amateur Radio Society - G6BLB / GC4LZP operating from Barmouth, Nth Wales. Excellent use was made of CQ100 & webcams to link up with MARS. I enjoyed QSO's with many new contacts & also with people who I haven't been in contact with for years ! Thanks to everyone who took part...
